British Comedy Awards postponed

ITV has said it is to postpone the broadcast of this year’s British Comedy Awards after discovering alleged phone vote irregularities from the 2005 show.
ITV has called in law firm Olswang to conduct an investigation, and said it would not comment further until the investigation was concluded.
The problem appears to be related to voting for The People’s Choice Award, won by Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which was chosen before the phonelines closed, meaning many calls (at 35p a minute) were ineligible but still taken.
The high-profile annual event has honoured the likes of Stephen Merchant, Catherine Tate and Russell Brand.
