Conchords fail to impress
The highly anticipated comedy “Flight of the Conchords” made a disappointing debut on BBC4 with just 161,000 viewers tuning in, a 1% share of the audience.
The HBO comedy, starring Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie as a pair of musicians struggling to make it in New York, has been described as “Peep Show meets the Monkees”.
It even managed to lose out to BBC3 documentary “Lucy: Teen Transsexual in Thailand”, which averaged 393,000 viewers.
Comedy did manage to work on BBC4′s schedule with their most watched programme of the night being the first in a new series of “Charlie Brooker’s Screen Burn”, which had 197,000 viewers.
