Comedy writers nominated for awards
The prestigious Writers’ Guild Of Great Britain has announced the shortlists for their 2007 Awards. The Nominations include ones for Best Comedy/Light Entertainment Show. The winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by Jeremy Hardy on Sunday 18 November.
The writers short-listed for the Best Comedy / Light Entertainment (TV) award, in no particular order, are as follows:
- Jesse Armstrong, Simon Blackwell, Tony Roche for BBC2′s “The Thick of It”
- Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant for “Extras”
- James Corden and Ruth Jones for BBC3′s cult success “Gavin & Stacey”
