Collins and Herring relaunch spectacular!

July 4, 2008 – 3:02 pm | by Peekay

Herring and CollinsAndrew Collins and Richard Herring started recording their own rambling, unscripted, unrehearsed podcast in February this year, partly to recreate their joint spot on Collins’ cancelled BBC 6 Music show.

Starting out as once a fortnight it quickly moved to weekly episodes. Running for about an hour, and recorded using a simple in-built mic on a laptop, it is now a fixture for a growing number of fans every Friday and rarely out of the iTunes comedy podcast Top 20, despite having no sponsorship and no national broadcaster or newspaper backing.

Fuelled only by hot drinks, Waitrose dried fruit snacks and the occasional wheat-free biscuit, Collins and Herring gently bicker, insult each other and occasionally talk about what has been in the news the past week. Unfortunately Jon Gaunt gets mentioned too often.

Today they are relaunching “The Collings & Herrin” Podcasts with the 20th podcast. Apparently “it will sound just like all the other ones” – talk about hyping things up!

All 20 podcasts thus far are available for free through iTunes or from here
