Heresy returns to Radio 4

April 6, 2009 – 8:43 am | by Peekay

heresyVictoria Coren is back in the host’s chair for a sixth outing of the prejudice-busting enemy of lazy assumptions, BBC Radio 4’s Heresy. The new six-part series will run from tomorrow, Tuesday 7th April.

Each week a highly opinionated panel drawn from Britain’s wittiest and most rebellious broadcasters, comedians, writers and performers will rail against the everyday assumptions we all take for granted, mixing verbal dexterity with irreverent humour.

Topics from the worlds of news, sport, popular culture, politics and the arts are all potential targets for the full Heresy treatment. The new series will include a ruthless examination of: ‘A shellsuit is inappropriate attire for a court appearance’; ‘Obama has given the world hope’; and ‘WAGs are bad role models for young women.’

The first episode will feature the show’s creator and original host David Baddiel, while other heretics lined up for the series include: Dave Gorman, David Mitchell, Rufus Hound and Richard Coles.
