The Loaded LAFTAs 2012 sponsored by YAZOO is set to provide another raucous and fun filled event, with some of the comedy industry’s finest talent in attendance.
Kicking off another year of stellar nominations, inimitable prankster Leigh Francis goes head to head with last year’s Loaded Legend Jimmy Carr in both the Funniest Man and Best Panel Show categories. Never one to shy away from controversy, Jimmy is also set to battle it out with fellow pun-slinger Tim Vine to decide who is king of the laughter-lines in Funniest Joke.
This year sees the unveiling of two brand new categories, Best Internet Viral Show; with nods to Alan Partridge, Harry Hill and Misery Bear as well as Funniest Joke which will showcase the top of the rib-ticklers from the past year.
At long last, childhood heroes The Chuckle Brothers are recognised for their services to slapstick comedy with a Funniest Double Act nomination. Vic & Bob slide into their 4th year of nominations with the hopes of picking up gongs in Funniest Double Act, Best Panel Show and Best Internet Viral Show.
Anna Crilly & Katy Wix fly the flag for the female contingent, with the first nomination of an all-female double act in Loaded LAFTA history. No stranger to comedic career moments, David Hasselhoff is nominated for Funniest TV Personality, not only for his comedy catchphrases on Britain’s Got Talent (ITV1), but his tireless commitment to the comedy wardrobe department.
