Whilst working in a restaurant in the USA, Keith came across this old-fashioned sign in the manager’s office. Stranger still is that the employees consisted of a young African-American, a Jewish waiter and his Irish self, but no dogs to be seen, so perhaps certain prejudices never die. ‘No Blacks. No Jews. No Dogs. No Irish. All Welcome’ is the exploration into racism and religion-ism in the bad old days as well as the issues raised by immigration today.
Critically acclaimed comic Keith Farnan has always found being Irish an advantage – who doesn’t love a good old Irish accent whilst sipping on a pint of stout? But it wasn’t always like this and signs such as “No Irish Need Apply” were commonplace where the Irish landed in droves. So what happened to change people’s mind? And how have the Irish treated their own immigrants over the years? (more…)

The Andrew Collins fronted “Banter” returns to Radio 4 this Thursday for a six week run of Top Three fun and games.
The show enters its third series with the same successful format, and the same regular comedy panellists – Richard Herring, Will Smith and Russell Howard – joined by a different guest contestant each week.
With categories ranging from science to cinema, playwrights to Playstation, the show is based around those random debates people indulge in at work or down the pub. With quick-fire rounds, and the panels’ attempt to guess what the studio audience is thinking, “Banter” continues its high standards in this series.
The first show features Herring, Howard, Dave Gorman and Dillie Keane discussing their top three Bank Holiday films, top three museums and top three Australian imports!
Radio 4 – 6.30pm

I’m always a little wary about any new sketch show, there seems to be such a glut of them these days, and the quality is sometimes very low.
Luckily this eight-part series has a talented set of writer-performers in Laura Solon, Ben Willbond and Marek Larwood.
It’s not got a 100% hit-rate, and some of the gags can be seen a mile-off. But the gags that do come are good and new and refreshing. Worth a half-hour of your time.
Series begins on Tuesday 11th March at 10.30pm on ITV2.
